Dr. Sengottuvelu, Interventional Cardiologist performed a live case demonstration of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) on a Patient with severe Aortic Stenosis.

The patient had other co-morbidities such as high blood pressure, kidney failure, asthma, irregular heart rate with blood clot in the legs and recently diagnosed heart failure with high possibility of need for open heart surgical Aortic Valve Replacement.

A team led by Dr.G Sengottuvelu consisted of Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Anaesthetists and Imaging Specialists in the Live case demonstration. Balloon dilatation and valve deployment on TAVR procedure were performed Live and demonstrated step by step to several doctors. Patient hemodynamics were stable and heart scan showed normally functioning new aortic valve.

The procedure is unique because it was introduced only recently.
