Gastrointestinal (Gut) and Hepatobiliary (liver / bile ducts / pancreas) diseases are common problems affecting children and they need to be taken care by appropriate specialists.

The department as a team takes care of children from newborn babies to older children until 18 years of age with nutritional issues and problems / diseases affecting food pipe, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, gall bladder & pancreas.

The team strives to provide evidence-based treatment for the betterment of childcare in this speciality. We have dealt with many complex / challenging cases efficiently to our patient / parent satisfaction.

We as a team place emphasis on patient safety, empathetic attitude and holistic approach.

The Department boasts of a state of the art endoscopy room, equipments that are of international standards and well trained supportive staff.

We work closely with general paediatric surgeons, liver transplant surgeons, dieticians, paediatric intensive care units and other paediatric subspecialties whenever appropriate.

  • Comprehensive consultations, evaluation and diagnosis, clear management plans including nutritional support
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic endoscopic procedures, such as:
    • Upper GI endoscopy
    • Lower GI endoscopy (Colonoscopy)
    • Capsule endoscopy
    • Manometry (Esophageal & Anorectal)

    • Liver biopsy
