Nephrology is a medical specialty that covers diagnosis, treatment and management of disorders of the kidney. Kidney stones and kidney failure are some of the common illnesses treated. Kidney diseases associated with other illnesses and conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes are also managed.

Renal Transplant

We run a well known and complete renal transplant program, and perform both autologous and cadaveric transplants. We also have one of the earliest and largest organ transplant registries in India. Minimally Invasive surgery is used for kidney donors thus minimising post-operative recovery and hospital stay.

Procedures related to kidney transplantation include:

  • Cadaveric renal transplantation
  • Cadaver-donor kidney transplantation
  • Living donor kidney transplants (from both related and unrelated donors)
  • Laparoscopic donor Nephrectomy

The process of removing wastes and impurities from the blood in the event of a malfunctioning kidney, is called dialysis. The kidneys may not function effectively in conditions such as kidney failure, severe diabetes, congenital kidney disease, hypertension etc
