Dr. Mohammed Abdun Nayeem is a Senior Consultant / Director – Liver Transplantation, HPB & Gastro Intestinal Surgery at the Apollo Institute of Liver Sciences, Chennai. He completed his MBBS from Osmania Institute of Medical Sciences (NTR University, Hyderabad) and pursued his MS (Surgery) at the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh.

He worked at some of the reputed centres in London and received his MRCS degree from Royal College of Surgeons – England. He did super-specialisation (M.Ch) in Gastrointestinal Surgery from Delhi University after securing the All India first rank. He then completed his Liver transplant fellowship at Medanta Institute of Liver Transplantation, Delhi NCR.

He has been associated with some of the most reputed medical organizations in the country and globally including Indraprastha Apollo hospital – New Delhi, Medanta Superspeciality hospital – Delhi NCR, Max Super Speciality Hospital – Saket, New Delhi, GB Pant Postgraduate Medical Institute – Delhi, St. Helier hospital – South London, Royal Free Hospital – London to name a few.

With multiple academic honours, professional certified courses, presentations and publications, he is one of the most adept surgeons in the country. He has developed and embraced novel surgical techniques in live donor liver and cadaveric transplantation ensuring the shortest wait and best outcomes on the list.

Dr Nayeem has a distinguished academic and surgical career with a cumulative experience of more than 1800 living donor & cadaver liver transplants with internationally comparable clinical outcomes.

He has been involved in teaching, research work and published several papers in various international journals and has written chapters for many textbooks.

He is also a Member Editorial board for the Liver Transplantation in Textbook of Surgical Gastroenterology (Jaypee).
