    DGCA Class I medical examination

    DGCA Medical Examination Guidelines

    Apollo Hospitals, Chennai has been authorized by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Government of India, as a Centre for Class I Initial and Class II Medical Examination. These Examination will be conducted at the APHC Block, Annex of Apollo Hospitals Chennai, a state of the art and modern out-patient facility, under the care of DGCA approved medical expert and efficient and caring staff.

    Test contents

    The test contents in the medical examination packages – Class I Initials and Class II medical examination are as per the advice of DGCA guidelines only. If required additional tests have to be done as per their protocol.

    Additional tests

    • Additional tests may be required for some candidates, if clinically indicated.
    • Payment – Self
    • Cost of additional test – Actual cost (Will be displayed / provided at the venue of the checkup)

    Duration of the Check up

    • Class I Initial – Minimum two working days.
    • Class II – Minimum one working day.
    • Stay may be prolonged due to additional test, if indicated.

    Results

    For Class I Initials – All the results will be conveyed to the President, Medical Board approved by the DGCA who in turn will send the reports to DGCA, New Delhi for final approval. The medical assessment will be issued by Director – Medical Services (Civil Aviation) DGCA, New Delhi.

    For Class II – All the results will be conveyed to the President Medical Board approved by DGCA and the reports will be uploaded online to DGCA. The medicals assessment will be issued by Director – Medical Services (Civil Aviation) DGCA, New Delhi on the day of medicals.

    Request for Appointment

    • Appointments must be fixed only by written communication through email.
    • Any other mode of fixing appointments will not be valid.
    • Candidates should strictly follow the appointment schedule; no changes will be made without prior intimation. Appointments will be based on first come first served basis.

    Documents needed

    Candidate should be in possession of the following while reporting for the health check:

    Class I Initials

    • Appointment confirmation schedule (E-Mail printout) received from Apollo.
    • Recent Passport Size Photo – 6 (six) nos.
    • 10th Mark sheet (Original and one Xerox Copy)
    • Valid Class II assessment certificate
    • Proof of the age and identity – Any one of the following is mandatory:
      1. Driving License
      2. Passport
      3. Voter ID card
      4. PAN Card

    Please carry original and two photo copies of the same. Proof of identification must have the photo of the candidate.

    Class II

    • Appointment confirmation schedule (E-Mail printout) received from Apollo.
    • Recent Passport Size Photo – Soft Copy only
    • 10th Mark sheet (Original and one Xerox Copy)
    • Registration on eGCA is mandatory
    • Proof of the age and identity – Any one of the following is mandatory:
      1. Driving License
      2. Passport
      3. Voter ID card
      4. PAN Card

    Please carry original and two photo copies of the same. Proof of identification must have the photo of the candidate.

    Payment

    • Payment for the medical check shall be made by cash/card by the candidate to Apollo Hospitals on the day of the check-up

    Guidelines for Candidates for undergoing DGCA Medical Examination at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, will be sent along with confirmed appointment schedule.

    No payment on bharatkosh is required.

    Note

    • Female candidates will be offered a chaperone (female) to assist.
    • Additional tests and consults will be arranged on the same day or other day depending on the specialist availability.
